Soild lodging option in the area - if a bit expensive

I stayed here for my birthday this year since I was in town visiting family. This hotel has been around for years under a couple different names, and for a long time it was the only national chain hotel in town. It's a two-story building with interior corridors, but no elevator - a design shared with a number of Quality Inns I've visited recently. The hotel is connected to a banquet hall. The hotel's public spaces have a traditional, "country home" style decor - quite attractive and welcoming.
I was staying with a family member for this trip, so I decided to book a room with two double beds. Our room was 108. The beds were lower to the floor than in most hotels, and the size of the room probably would not allow for two queen-size beds. The bathroom was also on the small size, where the edge of the bathroom door would rub against the edge of the toilet. However, the room was clean, comfortable, and functional. It was in generally good repair except for a couple of the lampshades which could use replacement. Nice,large in-room refrigerator, but the TV was of a smaller size.
The hot breakfast gets bonus points for offering bacon - I haven't had bacon at a hotel breakfast since May. Staff service was friendly from start to finish.
This Quality Inn is a smaller property serving a smaller market - outside of the local college and Letchworth Park, there really isn't too much to do in this mostly rural area - and this is coming from someone who lived in the area for a number of years. Despite that, it seems to be consistently more expensive than similar Quality hotels in larger cities/markets - indeed, it was more expensive han the four previous hotels I stayed at over this summer. Regardless, if you happen to find yourself needing a room in this part of Western New York, this hotel is a pretty solid choice.

The beds were horrible to sleep on and the pillows were way to small. We went down for breakfast at 730 and there was 4 sausage links, and 2 bagels left for breakfast. We attempted to find somebody to ask them if they were going to refill the food and there was nobody around. Overall we paid too much money for the service we received.

Everything about the day went well. The room is a little dated, but clean. The key card was tricky to use. The breakfast was really nice. The sitting area was very nice. The staff was very professional and helpful. I would say again.

Terrible customer service and bait and switch practices

I reserved a room over the phone for an upcoming party being held at this property and was given the event room rate. I requested a king size bed which was acknowledged. When i checked in the afternoon of the event, the King room I reserved was not available at the event rate and I would be charged almost double for a king room. I complained to the front desk person checking me in to no avail. I ended up taking a room with 2 double beds. I have left 2 voicemail messages for the manager, Kara, and have not had a return call back. What lousy customer service and unethical bait and switch actions.
