A Gem in New Bern!

We had a great experience at the Benjamin Ellis House. Our hosts were welcoming and accommodating, and their attention to detail is remarkable. The Inn is charming and immaculate - historic ambiance with modern amenities. Breakfast was delicious and beautifully presented.
The location can’t be beat. We parked our car and walked to shops, restaurants, and the waterfront.

Great stay at Benjamin Ellis House

We agree with previous reviewers - our stay at the Benjamin Ellis House was A+. It is clean, comfortable, in a great location, delicious breakfast, and the inn hosts were welcoming and informative. While there we enjoyed touring Tryon Palace and the Pepsi museum where Pepsi was born (my mother made her career with the Pepsi Cola company back when they had offices and a bottling plant in Allston, MA) We would definitely stay at the Benjamin Ellis House B&B again the next time we're in the New Bern area.

Great Bed and Especially Delicious Breakfast

We recently stayed at the B&B for three nights and it was the relaxing getaway that one hopes it would be. Tracy and Gretchen were great hosts, and the Inn was immaculate while also being very warm and cozy. Gretchen spoiled guests with her delicious breakfasts and was very generous and knowledgeable in accommodating my extreme dietary restrictions. If you're on a FODMAP diet, fear not as Gretchen already knew about this and had breakfasts planned. The B&B is perfectly situated in the old town area by the river, easy walking distance to restaurants, cafes, riverfront, and the birthplace of pepsi. We enjoyed our stay immensely and will stay again if we are in the area. Highly recommend for anyone who wants, or needs, a getaway.

Great B&B downtown

Excellent accommodations, great location, ample parking, and was able to accommodate a dietary restriction. House was historic and located in an area with other B&Bs but also only 1 block away from all the shops and restaurants. Room had the right upgrades to maintain the historic charm while adding modern comforts

Love the Benjamin Ellis House

We stayed at the Benjamin Ellis House for two nights. It is so conveniently located right in the heart of town. We parked the car and walked everywhere. It is super clean and comfortable. We had ten in our party. The front porch was very inviting and pleasant. Perfect for our group to visit over drinks. Another night we all sat in the parlor and for talking and laughing. We met several lovely people who were traveling as we were. Breakfast was very delicious. Our hostess even shared her recipe for the wonderful fig cake that she served one morning! Stay here! You will love it!
