Overall, the stay was good. It was quiet, clean, and the bed comfortable. We noticed that the hotel is about to be remodeled? We concur that this is necessary. The large sign near the highway is not illuminated at night, making it difficult to see the entrance, The outside structure is unattractive. The inside of the hotel is dark and blah. The lights are a mixture of daylight bright and warm white LED bulbs, which indicate a lack of attention to details. I summary, the place needs a decorator's eye, a freshening, and attention to details going forward.

Very unsatisfactory place to stay
I would give them negative stars, but this site does not allow that.
I would not recommend this hotel to stay at if it were the last place to stay in Ames, IA, do yourself a favor and stay at the Country Inn Suite. We recently stayed there on Friday night, the TV was not working, the bathroom sink had no hot or warm running water (if it were 1925, that may be okay, but it is 2025). I thought because it was a Radisson Hotel we would be okay, boy, were we wrong. We did not stay the second night of our reservation and all they told us we would have to call Expedia (which is a nightmare as well). No adjustment to the bill or anything (except sorry).

I have shared your review with our maintenance staff to ensure that all sinks have hot water so that this issue is avoided in the future. I am happy to hear that our front desk associate was able to get the TV up and running during your stay. Unfortunately, to obtain a refund you will need to contact the third party that you pre-paid through as we didn't take payment from you. Once again, I apologize for your less than satisfactory stay.

The Wi-Fi was unusable, the grab and go breakfast was very lame considering this is a Radisson, they gave us the wrong room that we booked, they put us then in the right room, but was charged extra for it, cable had one channel, but the band was very comfortable and the staff was friendly and tried to be accommodating.

It was filthy underneath the bed. The bathroom floor was disgusting. The internet with disconnect and reconnect all night. But it had one of the best beds I've slept in so there's a plus.

Bed was VERY comfortable and room was spacious and clean. We requested bedding for the fold out couch (not comfortable at all, but no fold outs are) and very shockingly, the sheet provided in the bedding kit was dirty—very clearly unclean from bodily fluids. I asked the front desk for another set as the sheets were dirty and the employee was very apologetic and she handled it well. So I have to question how a sheet like that ended up in a bag of “clean” laundry and it made me a bit concerned about the bedding in general, but everything else seemed fine. Other than that very unpleasant surprise, things were very good and very clean.
