We have come back

The hotel convinced us a year ago and therefore we came back. Daughters and grandchildren were also very welcome. Generous and friendly hosts!
Unfortunately there is no HP anymore, but there are good catering and shopping facilities in the village.

In mid-December, one weekend before Christmas, I tried to book a room at Ahorni. I oriented myself through Booking.com and then wrote to the hotel directly. The first response from Hotel Ahorni was: We're sorry, we don't have a single room anymore. No further offer followed (e.g. Double room for single use) After my request came the short sentence: Sorry, we only have one double room left. No offer on that. No will to shelter me. Is this once again a bad example for the CH hotel industry?!? Or an establishment that was too lazy to open since it was pre-season? Then why on Booking.com? Incomprehensible to this day. Luckily there are even better hosts in the village!

Our DSH was also welcome

Everything was perfect for us. We are travelling with a dog. He is welcome in the hotel. And the location is ideal. There are various walks with Robidog directly from the house. The large parking lot behind the house with shade is clearly visible from the balcony of room 25, so that the dog could also rest in the car after long walks.
The room is big enough, very clean and well insulated. We hardly heard anything from the numerous guests.
The hosts are quiet and accommodating. The menu has a small, balanced selection. The food was always delicious. Next time I would book half board.
Because there will definitely be a next time.

Friendly family hotel, quiet location, excellent ristorante

With a friend I spent a few nights in the family Hotel Ahorni. My rooms was comfortable, I even had a balcony. From my window I looked into the forest, just trees that said "good night" to me, when falling asleep quietly.
The restaurant of ths small hotel was a surprise (we knew and liked the cook from other places at Oberwald) and the wines on the menu were not overly priced. The service was very attentive fullfilling all our special wishes (for example once I just felt like a bouillon to start my meal, and I received that, though it was not on the menu).
The Hotel Ahorni is a good option at Oberwald - and Oberwald is a convenient place to stay, when doing cross country skiing in the Goms - the tracks pass right behind the hotel.

A comfortable hotel in a lovely Swiss village

I recently stayed at this nice, modern hotel in Oberwald for one night. I was a solo traveler and stayed in a very nice double room with balcony. It is larger than your average double. Plenty of room for two. Beds were twin and comfortable. The room and bath had all the typical amenities, flat screen tv, writing desk, plenty of closets, the balcony had 2 chairs with cushions. Bath was modern and up to date. There is an elevator in the hotel. I took half pension, a 4 course dinner for Sfr 35 and was not disappointed. The service was impeccable and the food was above average. Not many alternative dining options in Oberwald anyway. So the food here was a plus. Breakfast was equally as nice, soft boil eggs to order, yogurts, fruit salad etc. I arrived by train and it is a 10 minute walk from the station to the hotel. Very quiet in this village at night, so good sleep quality is pretty much assured. All in all, I thought this was a very nice hotel for the price, good quality, nice owner, great service, I would gladly stay here again.
