Terrible!!! The whole experience (staying 3 nights and 4 days) was spoiled by the lady owner with very bad attitude,
(please note that this is not in city of Poprad, but in a nearby village
called Spisska Sobota)
Experience: Lady owner shouting at guests to get out off the property:
Stressing them out. This was just before check-out, when it was aroud 11.45 am and the check-out supposed to be at 12 (noon). The lady owner first SHOUTED at my children to get out their room, they came rushing to our room to report this to me (we paid for 2 double rooms) rather stressed. Then she came to my and my parther's room to tell us to get out, that she has others guests coming. When we left, she did not even replied to our 'Good bye'. We even forgot expensive phone charger there, since we were rushing to leave this horrid place.
Very, very dissapointed.!!!!
The place is very basic
and the location is fine under the circumstances that you have a car or prepare to walk to the main city and attractions
. Nevertheless, the lady owner's attitude is not fine at all ! I also did not feel comfortable there, since you - guests- stay at 2nd floor, where small rooms are, and the lady owner occupies and lives at the 1st floor. I went around 6am to open the room door and she was standing right there, at the corridor. Got a fright a bit. She asked me why I am awake already?
Paid cash ( in EURos) up front at the arrival, paid for 3 nights, for 2 double rooms, however I wish to pinpoint the receipt was not issued for us.
I love Tatras and the area around Poprad, since it has a very beautiful nature.
However, will never stay again in this pension Borievka in Spisska Sobota and would never recommend it to anyone. The whole trip was spoiled due to the attitude towards the guests, which was on my opinion, dreadful and felt as 'Big brother is watching you' type of experience.
I worked in the hospitality industry myself for decades. Therefore, I understand what the welcoming and kind care and hospitality should be like. Did NOT experienced it here .
It is average to cheap, but would not recommend to anyone due to the attitude.

Przyjemny pensjonat wart polecenia
Sam pensjonat mieści się bardzo blisko klimatycznej i spokojnej starówki spiskiej, która bije na głowę tę z centrum Popradu.
W sumie same plusy:
W pokoju ciepło, czysto i pachnąco, TV płaski 32'' ze słowacką naziemną telewizją, WIFI działało bez problemowo (prędkość ok 7 MB w downloadzie). Łóżka wygodne, łazienka czysta i wygodna, żadnych przerw w dostawie ciepłej wody itp... Na wyposażeniu ręczniki, podstawowe kosmetyki i nawet patyczki do uszu...
A to wszystko okraszone pięknym widokiem z balkonu na Tatry Wysokie (m.in. Łomnica i Szczyt Kieżmarski).
W pokoju przydałby się tylko mały stolik na wypicie kawki itp (był na balkonie z 2 krzesłami)... Do dyspozycji mieliśmy aneks kuchenny ogólnodostępny dla 4 pokojów - płyta indukcyjna 2 palnikowa, lodówka wys. ok. 1,3m, oczywiście sztućce, kubki, talerze, kieliszki - do wyboru i koloru :)
Do użytku mieliśmy różne herbaty, kawy rozpuszczalne, kawę zbożową, kakao, przyprawy... Był też szeroki blat z 2 hokerami pod oknem z widokiem na ogród i Ttatry.
Wykupiliśmy śniadania - 5 eur/ osoba, z czego na miejscu okazało się, że dzieci (5 i 9 lat) mają gratis :) - śniadania przepyszne, urozmaicone i obfite - absolutnie nie żałowaliśmy tej opcji :) Śniadania jedliśmy w budynku Borievka 1 z widokiem na Spišską Sobotę.
W Borievka 1 można skorzystać z jacuzzi i sauny - trzeba wcześniej (np. rano) zarezerwować sobie u właścicielki - świetna sprawa, jest nawet "minibarek" z uczciwymi cenami - polecam!!
Reasumując: przemiła właścicielka, przepyszne śniadania, spokój i relaks - polecam Penzión Borievka!!!

"Tip na rodinnou dovolenou"
Měli jsme krásný výhled na Tatry přímo s balkonu. Personál byl velmi milý a ochotný.
