The welcome at Lato Lato Resort was warm and pleasant. One staff member, in particular, stood out—he helped us with our trolleys, regularly checked in to make sure everything was okay, and was genuinely friendly and attentive throughout our stay. The staff overall are hardworking and dedicated. It’s also a good idea to bring some cash, as local peddlers often pass by in small boats selling ice cream and fresh coconuts—a lovely and unique experience.
Overall, I’m really happy with my stay. I hope the resort owner sees the photo I’ve added and recognizes this staff member for his outstanding effort—thank you! I had read many negative reviews before coming and was a bit worried, but it turned out to be a wonderful experience.

Helpful staff during check in make check in more comfortable and fast.Answer all questions when asking.food variety and tasteful.Easy acess to sea.Nice view and unforgettable memories.

We booked 4 rooms of mixed types. The vibes and the view were exceptional. The service was also good. The staff may seem a little shy and reserved at first, possibly due to being locals, but they were actually very helpful and considerate. We will definitely come back to this place on our next visit to Sabah.

Don’t really wanna give a review in case too many people going , and get booked out . Hahaha. And if you’re looking for a 5 star service like Sheraton. Go to Maldives! Not here
Lato Lato is literally the best!!! THE BEST!
Please undertand that Lato Lato is owned by local people, simple English or Malay will get you thru at ease . We had fun ,karaoke with the employees. embrace the lifestyle living on the water . it’s a big family vibe.
Please only contact Lato Lato Resort via WhatsApp ONLY! (Due to language barrier)
1-2 day before your arrival to semporna , WhatsApp them to organise a boat to collect you from 7-Eleven Semporna with a price ( MYR 200/pp includes: Return boat rides island hopping 😍) it was such a good deal!!!
Snorkels are also available to rent at MYR 10/ day from the resort.
Note: Lato Lato does not serve beers, if you’re keen, please get some on the island to bring them with you.
Bonus: a family of turtles living just below the resort . Ok not telling anymore , as we’re booking our next trip to Lato Lato. Bye

The receptionist is no friendly but all the working staff over there is ok. The location nice view but the room got cockroach and all the table have ants.

The Hotel is on an island. Guest are encourage to take morning flight before 11:30am as the boat transfer service from Jetty to resort will be at 1:45pm with additional charges MYR 300 (return).. Guest must contact hotel at least 3 days prior to check in date for boat arrangement & boat service payment. Room rates does not include boat transfer. If guest arrive after 6pm, hotel unable to arrange the boat transfer and no amendment stay period or cancellation request allow.
