Staff was very helpful and responsive. Very accommodating to our needs. We appreciate how the staff went out and beyond to make our stay much better. Only a 18min walk to Nijo castle and 10 min walk to Nijo Station.

The hotel is nice enough and the public onsen fantastic.
The Rooms are not well sound proofed with lots of noise from other rooms and hallway coming into the room and passing trains
Food in hotel is poor. First night for convenience we paid the ¥7000 for two buffet meals and all the hot food was cold or barely warm and very low quality/quantity available. It was the first time I felt I needed to complain to the staff about something in Japan. We had breakfast included in our stay and it was ok, there are not many options nearby but once again most food was cold or like warm - but coffee on tap and great breads and topping
I probably would not stay here again

While it took a bit to figure out how to send my checkin luggages (one being a snowboard carrier) transported via Yamato Transport to KIX airport, the staff helped a lot filling out the forms for me and made sure the luggages would arrive the day I checkin for my flight.
Public bath was a much needed amenity and same with washer/dryer. Needless to say, the room was comfy but maybe on the small side if there’s 2 or more travelers.
Transport to various sights was most convenient by bus.

-I don't like see through door toilet.
-My room's next to the railway, it's very noisy. First train woke me up at 5:30
-Too many noisy Chineses walk and talk at the hallway at night time.
-Public bath is Narrow and small space. Lay out is very terrible, locker is next to the sink, crowded time there's not enough space even stand up and open locker.

We loved our stay at Urban Hotel Kyoto Nijo Premium. It was fairly central to all the things we wanted to do, staff was friendly, and the rooms were nice. We opted for the buffet in the morning and it did not disappoint. The train station is a very short walk down the street and it passes right by a grocery store, so after we were out all day, we could grab something on the way back to the hotel. It's also very close to a combini.
