Fantastic experience.
This is a fantastic hotel. Everything is just perfect. A beautiful castle completely renovated. Very large rooms in rustic surroundings. The location is also perfect for beautiful walks, cycling routes or visits. The staff are extremely friendly. This hotel is highly recommended. I will definitely come back.

Fantastic location, could be great but not for the bats!
Reception is not attended so you have to press a video doorbell and in my experience 15 minutes later someone arrived.
The biggest problem with this hotel is that a group of bats ( fledermaus) have decided to make the hotel their summer vacation Spot so there are signs everywhere saying please do not open the windows or doors as you will be joined by unexpected guests.
That would be ok if the rooms were air conditioned but they are not, so it gets incredibly hot during the night. The offer of a fan which I accepted only moves the hot air around and had no effect to cool you.
The view from the rooms to the vineyard on the opposite hill is lovely but when you are paying €188 a night for little sleep, the view does not compensate.
The last thing to pay attention to is that the car park is unsecure, located beyond a very small entrance between the castle walls and you Must carry your bags up 29 steps to get to the entrance. It’s about 100m and slippy steps when it rains ( which it is known to do)

Regarding the bats – they are indeed a protected species in our region and have chosen parts of the building as their summer habitat. This is a unique and rare situation that we try to manage carefully and respectfully. To avoid them accidentally entering guest rooms, we’ve had to ask that windows and doors remain closed after dusk. We completely understand, however, that without air conditioning, this makes the nights uncomfortably warm during the summer months. We have taken note of your feedback and are actively exploring more effective cooling options for the warmer seasons.
As for the parking situation and the steps, we realize that access can be challenging, particularly in bad weather. While the historic nature of the building limits certain modifications, we are looking into better ways to support guests with luggage, especially during rainy conditions.
We’re glad you enjoyed the view over the vineyard – it's something many of our guests love – but we understand that it doesn’t outweigh the discomforts you described.

Gutes Hotel. Schlechte Gastro.
Schönes Hotel. Hochwertige Übernachtung. Sehr gute Ausstattung. Ruhig. Preis-Leistung für Hotel (!) OK. Zum Übernachten und Gegend erkunden gut geeignet. Allerdings: Mahlzeiten unbedingt auswärts einnehmen. Getränke auswärts besorgen. Frühstück ist OK. Von weiteren Mahlzeiten (Mittag, Abend / Halb-/Vollpension) rate ich sehr ab. Das Essen wird in Buffet-Form von einem externen Anbieter geliefert, ist abgekühlt, trocken, geschmacklos, bescheiden variabel und extrem überteuert (z.B. Abendessen bei einer gebuchten Groß-Gruppen-Veranstaltung: 36 EUR =Wucher! )

Tatsächlich gab es bisher keine Beschwerden dieser Art, dennoch haben wir uns dazu entschieden, den Anbieter zu wechseln. Inzwischen wurde ein neuer Caterer mit der Verpflegung beauftragt, um unseren Gästen ein qualitativ hochwertigeres und geschmackvolleres Speiseerlebnis zu bieten.
Wir hoffen, Sie bei einem zukünftigen Aufenthalt erneut begrüßen zu dürfen – vielleicht ja auch, um unser neues kulinarisches Angebot zu testen.
