if you like it quite this is the place to be

the hotel is very nice in a good location no hills as such, central to the main square bars restaurants etc but there is not much going on in the evenings, no music in the bars etc, so if you want to enjoy a band etc sunny beach is the place to head for,

OK Hotel but don't go here with Tui

Ok, the good points - the hotel is very clean, quiet and spacious. The air con is quiet and efficient, rooms are super clean and breakfast is basic but interesting. The hotel is only a few minutes walk from a beach in either direction and the main restaurant/ shopping street is just behind the pool area. Pool is nice too. The not so good - most of the staff are at best 'detached' and in the case of the older man who does the over-night shift down right rude. The exception to this is the young man with the long ponytail. He is the only member of staff who seems to want to be helpful. English isn't well understood which wouldn't be a problem is staff were a bit more willing to at least try to understand what it is that is being asked. Minor maintenance jobs have been let slip, tvs are antiques. Tsarevo is a small and very quiet resort with minimal public transport links beyond the regular bus that goes along the coast to some of the other beaches. Great if all you want is to stay on a sun lounger but if you want to get out and about it is about a 25 minute walk to the local bus station. There is a bus every one or two hours to Bourgas which take about an 1hr and 15 minutes but it is only a mini bus and books up fast. Best to book to come back too or you might not get a seat, which leads me to Tui. The rep simply doesn't come to this hotel. The staff hadn't seen him for over a month. The coaches can't get in so I don't know how you would access their trips and we had to send email after email to try and get our pick-up details. Really Tui were a liability and it would have been better to arrange independently.

Mixed bag,

Hotel is nice very modern, very clean and good air con, best and friendliest maids I have ever met, even got a kiss on my departure, yesterday, town very pretty some lovely views but one week would have been enough, nice place for people with young children , it felt very safe, but for us not enough to do, we are in our 70s so we are not looking for rave ups or discos, but just a little live music somewhere would have been nice, so, no I would not go back, but it might be just you're cup of tea, we met 2 English people there,THE only 2,Julia & Mick thanks for you're great company, and that helped pass a few days ,but they went home after a week, and we missed them so we were back to square 1, with no english people totalk to, i hope this helps you make you're choice
B
( memo to hotel, get you're staff some smiling lessons,by the maids, maybe ???

A place to avoid

The building itself is fine and modern, The room was huge, clean and well maintained although a kettle in the kitchen area would be an improvement. There was a very old cathode ray tube tv - never used it, so no problem.
That's the end of the good bits. With the exception of the cleaning ladies, the staff have no understanding that they are in the hospitality business. It is normal in holiday hotels around the world to make paying guests welcome, relaxed and to create an environment in which visitors can enjoy their holiday.
Staff were unfriendly, unsmiling, downright rude and in the case of the Lifeguard, belligerent, aggressive and disrespectful. I would exclude the tall young man with a pony tail on reception (can't name him because none of them had name badges) he spoke good English and was helpful - a smile would have improved things.
When we were there, the doors leading to the outside terrace and pool area were locked at 18.00. Because my partner didn't immediately leave her sun bed at 18.00, the life guard 'banned' her from the pool even though she was back in the main building at 18.05. He was agitated and shouted in an aggressive manner that 'it's the rules' and there was a sign that clearly stated this. After strenuous representations to the TUI rep, the hotel allowed access to the terrace after 18.00 hrs.
There was also a sign that said the bar was open until 21.00 but the doors were locked before 20.00. There were a number of examples of staff refusing to serve drinks during the opening times, for no apparent reason.
There was also a sign that said 'Restaurant' but whilst we were there it was simply a breakfast room.
The TUI rep was noticeable by his absence. He never held a 'Welcome' meeting and only came to the hotel after many 'phone calls and a cancelled appointment. The fault of TUI and not the hotel although it was with great reluctance that they give us his 'phone number.
There is no way that the town of Tsarevo can describe itself a holiday resort by Western European standards. To say it's downmarket is a massive understatement. The town is rundown and unkempt. There is one main street that offers tacky souvenir shops and fast food eateries (hesitate to call them 'restaurants'). Things may change because during our visit, work commenced to create what appeared to be ornamental gardens in front of a large civic building. I'm sure this will improve the appearance but i'm not sure it'll improve the demeanour of the people.
Finally, if you're thinking of booking with TUI, think again. I contacted them, whilst there 27/6 to raise some issues and apart from automated responses, have yet to receive a reply and as a consequence, have issued a formal complaint.
