Amazing!
Lovely place in a peaceful area near the city centre (5 min car drive). Close to the river and thermal water. Receptionists are wonderful, helpful and kind. Very polite and loved our dog! Spacious room, comfortable bed, large flat tv screen and the wifi worked perfectly fine. Breakfast is delicious, and they also provide you with bosnian cake and coffee.

Proximity to thermal springs
We were in room 3. The view from the side window was of the listed building called Seranica House, which can only be described as sliding into dereliction - though it would once have been beautiful. A few minutes walk along the road brings you to the thermal springs in a series of shallow pools above the banks of the Vrbas. My partner swam in the river and l sat in the warmer of the pools. The parking at the motel was a plus and breakfast was more than adequate.

The first impression was quite bad, but then...
Motel Kobilj is NOT inpressive when you look at it for the first time. But please give it a chance :-) I think it used to be a clinic or some local administration building before, now refurbished to be a motel. Has only 12 rooms which makes is a quiet and peaceful place to stay in.
Dogs are welcome! When the manager noticed we brought our dog with us she immediately provided a larger suite for us (very clean, 3 beds + a sofa, more than we actually needed - big kudos!). 1 night = 50 EUR (cheap!)
The motel's location is brilliant - on the Vrbec riverbank, with a fantastic view from the restaurant area (well, our window view was not so stunning - see the 1st picture, but it was some historical ruined building, that's all I can say). There are a couple of natural (hot?) spring basins right next to Kobilj and locals come there in the morning to have a relaxing bath. For a delicious dinner/lunch try the Ilidza restaurant on the opposite side of the street - they serve exquisite meals at low prices, the service is extraordinary! Local wine (grasevina stobi) is to die for!.
Breakfast is included and I really appreciated the local products we were served - pindjur (a red bell pepper relish, soooo delicious) and somun flatbread (I loved it and will want to bake myself one at home!).
The neighborhood is great for hiking (those views! Krupa waterfalls, tiny mosques and old islamic cemeteries) and don't forget to take your swimsuit with you. If you love rafting, Vrbec river will be a perfect location for you!

Good value
We stayed one night here in a double room. For one night in the off season of October it was 64KM which we found quite expensive but the quality was there.
There is a small secured parking although if arriving by car know that on your GPS it may not indicate the number. It is the first hotel/building after the single lane bridge. There is a small sign on the parking door but other than that no sign indicating it is a motel so beware if you are without GPS or at night.
Our room had a bathroom, entranceway and in the main room there was a double bed, a single
Bed and a mini pullout single bed. The bed was quite comfortable. There was also a flat screen tv that worked. The bathroom was spacious although the shower is difficult to use without getting water everywhere as there was no door nor curtain.
The wifi did not work upstairs or in the room. The wifi password displayed comes up as an incorrect password and even the receptionist didn't know why it wasn't working. At reception the unsecured wifi worked well.
Breakfast was included and there was a small variety of choices (sausages, eggs, cereal and buns).
The center is a short drive away or a good walk but I think in the summer it must have great views over the river.

Close to the center of Banja Luka, with a car for 5 minutes and very clean, beautiful and quiet hotel next to the river Vrbas. In the morning, you hear the noise of the river and the twitter of birds from nature around the hotel .... Every recommendation
