This platform advertises establishments without having the authorization or a contract with the hotel keeper which is completely illegal, and it is the customer who bears the consequences.
During a stay in Dhaka, Bangladesh, I booked one room out of Hotels.com in a hotel from February 2 to 6, 2024.
Hotels.com sent me an email confirming my booking and payment. But when I got to the hotel reception, there was no sign of my booking, and the hotel manager told me that they don’t work with Hotels.com or Expedia, but only with Booking. Hotels.com took my money but didn’t pay and contact the hotel.
I had to negociate during almost 3 hours - and 1 hour and 15 minutes on the phone with Hotels.com Bangladesh - France. When you're tired after a long travel, in a country you don't know, it's very difficult to live...
Finally we were able to get our room after a wasted afternoon. But new surprise: the booked "Delux" room is actually the simplest in the hotel and the price paid at Hotels.com is 20% higher than the price offered at the reception. So we had to pay extra charges to have a nicer room.

Hotels.com illegally added this hotel with no consent
This platform offers establishments without having a contract or the authorization of the hotelier, which is completely illegal, and it is the customer who bears the consequences.
During a stay in Dhaka, Bangladesh, I booked a room on Hotels.com in a hotel from February 2 to 6, 2024.
As usual, the site sent me an email confirming my reservation and payment. But when I arrived at the hotel reception, there was no trace of my reservation or the money. The hotelier tells me that they don't work with Hotels.com or Expedia, but only with Booking.
The result was nearly 3 hours of negotiation, including 1 hour 15 minutes on the phone with Hotels.com Bangladesh - France. When you are in a country you don't know, after a tiring trip, it's very hard to live...
Finally we were able to get our room after a wasted afternoon. But a new surprise: the "Delux" room reserved is in fact the simplest in the hotel and the price paid at Hotels.com is 20% higher than the price offered at reception. So we had to pay extra to get a nicer room.

Excellent mid range option
Very professionally and efficiently checked in by Habib as his friendly manner was most welcome after a long journey.
The room was well appointed and spacious, the bed very comfortable and the bathroom spotless. The buffet breakfast was very good and again attended to my another cheery chappy.
Very convenient for the airport only 30 minute 300 Taka trip away.
