Place to be in Wasserburg (Lake Constance)
We spent a wonderful afternoon at the Caraleon Sunset Lounge. Great location right on the water. Run by two great young women. The food was incredibly fresh, light and delicious. Peruvian cuisine finely balanced and in keeping with Lake Constance. With the perfect wine to go with it (after professional advice). Thank you for the great service and the lovely time. We are already looking forward to our next visit there.

Well intentioned. Badly done.
In early August, we stayed for two nights at the Hotel Caraleon in Wasserburg.
The hotel has two charging stations for electric cars. That's great. However, the parking spaces at these charging stations are not "protected". So these parking lots were blocked by cars with combustion engines. Unfortunately, the hotel staff was not able, did not have time or simply did not feel like identifying the wrong parking guests and regulating the parking situation.
Excerpt from the hotel brochure: “Arrive, be welcome.”
We had a very nice room with lake view. The room was very tastefully decorated and you could really feel comfortable in the room. It had no air conditioning. That wasn't particularly bad either, because with the window open you could fall asleep wonderfully.
However, all rooms with lake views are located directly above the breakfast terrace. The night's sleep was therefore already ended at 6:45. The bread rolls are delivered at this time. The baker parked his car right in front of the balconies and made screaming contact with the hotel staff because he didn't have his access card ready at the moment and somehow had to enter the hotel. The baker then followed up again when he had to shout some work instructions to the colleague who was still in the van from the hotel.
A little later, the hotel staff opened the conservatory, moved tables and chairs and stocked breakfast. And then the first cheerful early bird guests were already on the terrace and enjoyed their breakfast with children and cones. So the night ended very early at the Hotel Caraleon.

Hotel Caraleon has a restaurant recommended by Fallstaff magazine, among others. How this happened, however, remained a mystery to us.
We had reserved a table on the terrace and arrived at the restaurant on time. Unfortunately, the reserved table was not available for us. We were then told that we had booked too late and should therefore eat in the dining room now.
Just funny that the Reservation for the stay at the beginning of August was already made by us in March in writing and expressly for the terrace and confirmed by the hotel with the words “We look forward to seeing you”.
After we didn’t just want to be handled with flimsy explanations and reacted emotionally outraged, we were offered to serve the food in the hotel’s Sunset Lounge beach bar. Same menu, identical service and a nice table by the water was the offer.
Once at the beach bar, nobody took care of us. We first stood around lost and then placed ourselves independently at one of the free tables. The table was not wiped and was not set for us. We weren't given cocktails to apologize for. Four of us had a single menu from which to choose the food.
The appetizers were then wordlessly placed on the table by the beach bar staff. It was not clear which starter belongs to which guest. That's why we checked with the staff. Unfortunately, the staff spoke no German and only broken English. The hastily summoned beach bar boss, unfortunately could not tell us which dish is on which plate, because she would unfortunately not know the food from the restaurant.
However, that was the famous drop of unprofessionalism that caused the barrel to overflow. After all, the Hotel Caraleon calls for prices for both accommodation and food and drink, for which you can expect first-class service.
And after the serious mistake with the slutty Reservation had already happened, it is all the more surprising that the staff did not want to give us an unforgettable evening with double commitment.
Well, the evening was indeed unforgettable. But in the most negative sense.
The hotel management tried to save the evening somehow. By then, however, it was already too late. The mood was emotional in the basement. We had asked for management much earlier (when it was clear that our Reservation was being squandered). But the manager was unfortunately not tangible.

In summary, I would like to say that Hotel Caraleon could be very nice. Everything was thought of in the hotel concept. However, the staff is unfortunately far too little interested in giving the guest a good time. Especially when a situation arises that deviates from the “standard procedure”, the staff is completely overwhelmed. The fact that the guest is “king” is definitely not true in this hotel.

The advertising promises of the hotel, were real unfortunately not fulfilled during our stay. I'm sure we won't be back.

Little piece of heaven on earth
We spent 5 days at the hotel and were very pleased with our experience. The hotel has a location directly at the lake- with beautiful maintained area to access the lake. The breakfast was great and enough options for everyone. Staff was very kind and polite. The lounge area at the lake is great for a drink or coffee. Our room ( deluxe suite) was spacious clean and wonderful decorated. The only downsize no AC but this is quite normal in Germany . All together we will definitely return!

Attention scam
Gives great looks but is not up to it. Disappointing welcome. We had taken a suite, in fact it is a simple room with a bench in an angle. Our terrace was mentioned lake view, and that’s what we paid for. In fact, we had seen another hotel and to see the lake, we had to lean to the side of the balcony. Scam. Miniature bathroom. No hook for hanging clothes. No window shutters. Wifi bad and disconnects often. Little power outlet to charge the usual devices. Very loud because of the screams in the common areas. Really disappointed for the price.

Great hotel with lake view
A great hotel in a quiet location right on the lake. Beautiful location. Great modern rooms with every comfort. A good breakfast with a large selection every morning. The staff is very attentive, friendly and accommodating. This won't be the last time we stay here!
