A nightmare
It is not possible to enter by car, the parking is outside (thank goodness it is reported as free) on the very busy road.
To carry your luggage you either take a series of steps or go up a very steep ramp, all by hand!!
Once you arrive at the entrance you continue with a series of steps to reach the rooms. Not having been welcomed we received some directions to see our room but upon entering we noticed a stale smell.
Looking at the structure we perceived neglect, lack of cleanliness (the morning cups are still present in the breakfast room) and carelessness towards the guests.
Realizing the dilapidated structure, we decided not to experience this situation and indignantly canceled our reservation.
Don't be enchanted by the photos but I strongly advise against this structure.

great stay
The owner was very welcoming and went out of her way to assist in making our stay enjoyable, she even provided a personal taxi service for us one night to another town, so that we could both have a drink with dinner. She does have 2 very friendly dogs, so maybe worth bearing in mind if your not a dog person. The surrounding area and Canale itself are very picturesque, with some fantastic restaurants and wineries nearby, though you really need a car to get around.
In short I would highly recommend the villa Valentino if you are looking for good accommodation in the area.
