Memorable elegant stay.

What a wonderful place,quiet, elegant, spotlessly clean& excellent staff.This place is less than 30 minutes drive from Cork city.The rooms are big,so comfortable, breakfast was freshly cooked & the staff were friendly,not intrusive but always available.As a solo traveller I felt safe.Would definitely recommend.

Super accommodating, lovely retreat feeling

We had an absolutely fantastic time at Kilshannig. The place is like a countryside retreat, the grounds are perfect for a relaxing stroll and the inside decor matches the peace and calm that the setting provides. The rooms are spacious and cozy, the bed was so perfect definitely the best nights sleep we’ve ever had. The breakfast is delicious and plenty of it. They were super accommodating of my mum who is a wheelchair user with a walk in shower, shower chair, room has plenty of space and accommodated a profiling bed for us. My brother is coeliac and he was very very well accommodated with knowledgable staff on making sure everything was gluten free. The staff were so friendly and kind and helpful with everything. We went into the city for the jazz fest and it was an easy and nice drive in and out of the city on good roads. We will definitely be back as soon as possible

What a treasure!

Another lovely stay at Kilshannig. What a treasure this place is. Lovely friendly staff, freshly cooked breakfast, gorgeous comfortable rooms with good showers and the pleasure of walking around this stunning estate. Looking forward to my next visit.

Breathtakingly Beautiful

Exceptional accommodation. Breathtaking views. Peace and quiet. An ideal location for getting away from hustle and bustle. Both our rooms were decorated beautifully with lovely comfortable bed, period furniture, bathroom high standard. The guest sitting room was gorgeous, comfortable and high quality. Breakfast is in the old traditional kitchen. Good Irish breakfast. Area available for self tea+coffee anytime. Short drive to nearby pubs.
Only minor issue with long wait for owner to show us to our room. Access available to indoors hall and seating.
Wished we had booked longer!!

Charming, relaxing retreat.

What a beautiful house and the host Hugo is such a lovely man. He made us feel very welcome and was so very relaxed about our use of his grounds to look at the horses. We even saw one of the 3 red squirrels that have made their home in his beautiful trees.
The ladies who served our breakfasts each day were just a joy to talk too, nothing was too much trouble for them. 3 cheers for Mary, her daughter Rachel who is due to have her baby is 6 weeks, can just see the new arrival having a job with Hugo early in life. Then to join these two ladies was Mary's sister Aline, who was also a real morning star. The only niggles we had were that if it was busy in the morning the hot water system gave up and was very lukewarm. The extractor fan didn't work either, though we did hear it trying to kick in, it sounded like the start of a quiet alarm clock on a quick burst, either that or a ghost of a previous owner or visitor. Also the WIFI kept dropping out particularly in our room which was Room 5, we were told it was the weather conditions! Hugo was most apologetic and said he was getting someone in to look at each issue.
Which he did and then I was told it was my phone that had caused it. Apparently I had used a site that caused an issued. The tech man told me the name, it was not one that had any knowledge of. But by the time the Tech man had come out the WIFI was back on! All a bit confusing, but all credit to Hugo and his team for trying to get things sorted. It was just a few niggly things that all together were abit annoying. But I can also see that this Courtyard project is a work in progress. Hugo has made such a great start to this and his lovely laid back cool approach to problems is just brilliant. Even with the niggly bits I'd recommend The Courtyard to others
