Great overnight camping.

Close to the highway and so fine for a night in transit. Booked in advance and a large pitch and not between the row of caravans and campers 'for 1 night'. Unfortunately, the terrace of the bistro was covered with a tent so diverted to the Italian next door (but that is a separate story, see review). This campsite we keep in mind when we go that way again.

Friendly family run site

The sisters who run this site were super friendly and helpful. The pitches were a good size and freshwater was close by. The brotchen every morning were lovely and fresh. There is a supermarket close by and the Italian restaurant next door, Pizza Calabria, was lovely. Most campers were there for just one night. We stayed three nights and would not hesitate in returning. We did get bitten badly by mosquitoes - not sure if that was on the pitch or at the restaurant next door - so bring your Jungle Fever!

Camping Aichelberg.

Small-scale campsite, we booked this as an overnight campsite on both the outward and return journey. There 2 nights back 1 night.
Extremely affordable *cheap incl. electricity and water. (Tap points)
Staff is friendly and will take you to your camping spot.
Camping in nature, nature as nature is. Quiet campsite. The sanitary facilities are clean, during our overnight stays the dining facility was more closed than open, staffing apparently was an issue.
Fortunately, there is an Italian Restaurant adjacent to the campsite (100 metres) where you can eat very well or also take away.

Not too bad

We were on the road home and saw massive traffic jams ahead. We decided to spend the night on this camping.
Nice and big plots. Clean toilets and a small village nearby for groceries and dinner. Near the highway as well. Wouldn’t advice eating in their restaurant. Packed and not the best food. The door that leads to the toilet is not really ‘childfriendly’, in other words: super heavy.
Overall, not bad but not good either.

Great for secure overnight stop

Stayed on route back to the UK from Slovenia. Very welcoming staff with secure gated entrance. You are guided to a ‘pitching’ area by one of the team. Although not conventional pitches, everyone has access to electric hook up and nearby water points.
The site has its own restaurant and bar with both inside & outside seating. There is also a Pizzeria next to the site and a small village within easy walking distance.
The shower block is excellent with a secure fob entry system, clean & modern.
