Nice place but not as advertised
The issues for me were twofold, there is not what I would call a swimming pool, more like a hot tub. Secondly the “ nearest” beach is not a beach, it’s a cove for fishing boats. However there is a good proper beach 15 mins walk.

First of all, we want to thank you for choosing La Chimère for your vacation in Buzios. It was truly a pleasure to host you, and even more of an honor to see that every aspect of your stay deserved your highest rating!
We are delighted to hear that you found our place lovely and that you enjoyed the attention of our staff. Knowing that you had such an exceptional experience, with every detail valued to the fullest, is an immense satisfaction for us.
Regarding the pool, as we always mention, it is a space designed for relaxation, with heated water and hydromassage jets, ideal for unwinding and enjoying a moment of tranquility. And it was designed this way, for relaxation, since we thought it is not worth competing with the beauty, majestuosity and variety of swimming beaches we have in the surroundings. So, in our humble opinion, we believe a place to relax after enjoying those wonders is a better option for our guests. In the surrounding area, our guests will find different types of beaches, to suit all tastes:
• Tranquil and family-friendly beaches: such as Ossos, located a few meters from La Chimère, ideal for swimming and relaxing in its calm waters. Also Azeda and Azedinha, just a 5-minute walk away, with their crystal-clear waters and intimate atmosphere.
• Beaches for water sports: if you are looking for more action, about a 10-15 minute walk away you will find beaches like Geribá, with perfect waves for surfing and other water sports.
• Beaches with a vibrant atmosphere: for those who enjoy nightlife and beach bars, João Fernandes beach offers a wide variety of options for eating, drinking and enjoying the music.
Regarding Ossos beach (located less than 50 meters from La Chimère), it is one of the 23 beaches of Buzios, one of the most traditional and popular, suitable for swimming and with several beach bars to enjoy the local atmosphere.

An Oasis of Calm and Character
Location is excellent and the hotel is just a minute walk from the beautiful Ossos beach which was our favourite place to relax, or take a water taxi or stroll to one of the many others. Only a 10/15 amble along the sea front to the main Buzios centre.
Our room was not the largest but still full of charm and a 12.00 check out was very welcome.
During our stay we enjoyed an in house massage which was excellent and great value.
La Chimere is highly recommended

Guests are required to show a photo ID and credit card upon check-in. Please note that all Special Requests are subject to availability and additional charges may apply. This property does not accommodate bachelor(ette) or similar parties. Guests under the age of 18 can only check in with a parent or official guardian. According to the Brazilian Federal Law 8.069/1990, minors under 18 years of age cannot check into hotels unless they are accompanied by their parents or a designated adult. If a minor is accompanied by an adult other than his parents, it is necessary to present a written authorization for the minor to check into the hotel. Such authorization must be notarized and signed by both parents, and presented along with notarized copies of their IDs. All minors under 18 years of age also need to present a valid ID with photo, to prove their identity and that of his/her parents. This must be presented even if a minor is accompanied by his/her parents. Please note that the property will only accept children if they were informed during the reservation process. Some rooms cannot fit an extra bed, therefore children must be placed within the existing beds.
